Unlike the millennials, gen Z has it better in terms of technology and to benefit from it especially when using social media. Technology and science expand so fast we never realize how it affects our everyday lives. Not only internet or digitalized socialization but also those that help us in our lives. For example, smartphones, computers, even transportation are being advanced. This pandemic forces us to dive into this “e-world” trying to adapt our life in a very distinct way of living. Now that we have to continue with this new era, we can see how different millennials and gen Z coping with this transformation and how our lives would become in the future years. Every aspect including socializing with family and friends is shifted to social media that we can reach out anywhere anytime. Understanding technology and how the internet works at a young age does effects gen Z when adapting to a fast-paced revolution. Most kids and teenager now seems to fit more and adapt quickly since they have been manifested with this way modern way of thinking. Exposed to this digitalized society give them the privilege to expand and explore themselves through the internet and social media. This is because the information we need is already on the tip of our hand just by clicking on our gadget. Moreover, interaction in today’s society is much different from what we had before. The way we communicate and express ourselves is more vivid and honest. Those are some of the privileges we could not argue, especially for generation Z.

In a contrasting manner, the reality in Indonesia to be particular does not seem to use those privileges optimally. Having rich and valuable resources, indonesia is still seeking through this modernization and advancement in technology. This could have resulted from uneven development in the areas of Indonesia. When in reality, kids from gen Z could gain so much and optimize their self-development from this fortune. if we dive deep into rural areas in Sumatera, Sulawesi, and even Java we could see not every child gets the chance to expand themselves with the technology in their hand. There are still many teenagers who could not benefit and doesn’t aware of how powerful they are. As seen by how kids outside of the big cities such as Jakarta or Surabaya behave in their social media. Most of them using it as a media to seek attention or to be seen in society. As there is so much more to advantage from it. This makes them hard to take part in this society we live in. Although, as a generation who are known as “digital native” it is in our hands to make use of it especially through social media.
